Rang SAGEM not much help. Spoke to Currys and they were most helpful allowing me to try another SAGEM power supply and to my delight it worked fine. Solution, went to SAGEM website, bought a new power supply approx £15 and the box is now back up and running and I didn't have to fork out and enormous amount of cash for a replacement box. . Not the best solution, but at least you'll be up and running for christmas. Hope it is of use.
I rang Sagen with Error code 09 and they said to press exit on the remote control (despite the fact the machine would not switch on) and it seemed to reset something. Then switch off and on again.
Machine is now working fine.
A number of Sagem models have shown incompatibilities with the recentFreeview retune, and your model is specifically listed as one of those affected (seehttp://news.bbc.co.uk/1/shared/bsp/hi/pdfs/01_10_09_freeview2.pdf ). Sagem are not the only ones, better known brands had problems as well.
Sagem error code 07 means there'san access problem in back-up memory and code 09means the machine has been unable to find any data necessary to do anupgrade. In essence, your box has tried to upgrade itself and failedand now cannot restore to it's previous state.
The official advice is to contact Sagem directlyon 0845 0900 316 to find out if they've scheduled an OAD (over air update).
Although my answer doesn't offer an immediate fix it should at leastreassure you that you have done nothing to cause the fault: it's beenthere from the day it was manufactured just waiting to occur. Sagem 6280 has lost all recorded programs. I switched on the set top box this morning and it all appeared to work ok, no apparent problems. However, when trying to play back a recorded programme, the list simply read 'Not Available' where I would normally see a list of programmes, disk space used is listed as 0%. Is my box trashed or can I recover my recordings? I have tried the 15-minute switch off method of resetting, but no luck so far. Help will be most appreciated. Thanks.
