Ice maker crushes ice even in the cube mode

Remove the ice bin . Press the door switch in , and press the dispensor actuator pad . In the back , on the panel with the prongs , there is a square box cut-out , which houses a white square plastic piece . If this piece doesn't lift when set on cubes , then the solenoid is bad or a wire has come off of the solenoid . To access this solenoid , remove the 3 or 4 screws holding the panel on . Also try lifting this plastic piece with your finger , to see if it is frozen . Also a sign that the cube solenoid needs to be replaced .
