Re: Brother Fax 4750e Super G Drum

Open the front door. the drum is the unit the toner goes into. make sure you follow the instuctions that come with it. I think you have to press the clear button with the front door open to clear the drum warning code. Lawrence

I have a brother 4750e fax that is sending occassional barcode looking black areas on the right side of page. receives OK Has new drum and clean scanner glass

My first guess is a bad drum unit. Inside the assembly is a soft, plastic blade that scrapes off the toner that didn't make it onto the paper, so the next page will be clean. If dirt is stuck under the cleaning blade, it may skip, making marks like that on the drum, which get transferred to the page.
Do you still have your old DR-400 drum, or can you borrow one from another machine? Swapping drums is the ideal test, if you can avoid buying a new one. If your new drum is bad, the seller should exchange it.

Intellifax 4750e, prompted us to change the drum soon. We did change the drum but it is still telling us to change drum soon.

We went to Brother website and obtained a manual and we were forgetting to reset the counter. Once the counter was reset, the message went away.
