Try removing the battery, and then removing the power cord, and then holding down the power button for about 1 minute.. Then try starting the computer with the battery removed but the power cord plugged in.. If that doesnt work, you may need to remove the cmos battery to reset the bios completely.
A bios update should not cause the laptop to fail in powering up. Regardless, whether you used the correct bios update or not, the laptop should still power on. You may not be able to boot to windows, but you should still power up.
You are have hardware failure unrelated to bios change.

I have a Toshiba Satellite A205-s5809... Now there is a blank screen with the message ''BOOTMGR IS COMPRESSED, Press CTRL-ALT-DEL to restart''. i have researched various fixes but my main issue is that i have no access to the bios. when i reboot or coldstart laptop, it goes to Phoeniz Technologies w/ a loading bar at the bottom, no other informaiton, then straight to the message. Please help me out.
