Well its unsupported because you just copy it. ok so here's what you need to do. install the samsung cd studio. it is included when you bought the phone. this program will facilitate TRANSFERRING files from you pc to your samsung star. that includes music, pics, videos (that program will convert the vid to be compatible with your phone) and also java file.
OK so do not just install the program. below the menu, you will see install cable/USB or something like that. you need to install that also so that when you connect your phone into your pc, the pc will recognize it as a new device.
AFTER INSTALLING, your PC should recognize "new device".. then open PC studio program. at the left side of PC studio you will see "my computer". at the right side, you will see "search devices". click that and then after a few moment an icon will appear stating that it is the samsung star.
Click my computer on the left side and locate where you save you downloaded .jad and .jar file (it should be both to get it working). and then click your phone on the right side, open "other files". drag the .jar and .jad file FROM my computer TO your "other files".

disconnect your phone from your pc.
Locate "Other files" in my files.
Install .jar and .jad

Usually you update the phone through the menu on the phone, look through your manual to see how to update the phone.

In Menu mode, select Settings → Phone
settings → PC connections → Samsung PC
studio → Save.
2. Using an optional PC data cable, connect the
multifunction jack on your phone to a PC.
3. Run Samsung PC Studio and copy files from the
PC to the phone.
Refer to the Samsung PC Studio help for more
information.

Unplug the phone from the pc, turn the phone off and on and then reconnect it, it worked with mine !

You may have received a CD with the phone. It contained Samsung PC Studio. Have you installed it? If not please do it. reboot the PC. Run PC studio and connect the phone through USB port. The Studio will recognize the phone and connect it.

check the pc connectivity settings on ur phone.

make sure that ur using the 2.0 port of ur computer
dont use front usb ports cpu. use rear ports. they are faster.
if still problem persists. try below
conect ur phone to usb. now without disturbing the connections switch off and then on the phone. now there may be chances.

samsung sofware could be corrupted due to virus on ur pc. remove all the viruses then freshly install suit

you can try this. install pc studio, and then connect your mobile...it should automatically install the drivers..but if that is what you have done then you can try updating the PC studio software.

If you are using the PC suite try doing it this way. First start the PC suite up then set your phones USB settings to mass storage device then connect it up to the PC suite. I used to have the same problem of crashing or not recognizing the phone until I done it this way round. Good luck.

PC Studio for Vista can be found on the Samsung Website. Series is "U series" and model, of course, is U600. As for installation, as Samsung suggests, make sure that the phone is NOT connected to the USB port at ANY POINT prior to the completion of the installation. Install the software as normal. Then, after it has finished installing, open up PC Studio and plug in your phone. At this point, the software SHOULD recognize that the phone has been connected after setting it up to use USB connection in the “Connection Manager” (Click “File”, “Connection”).
If it is still not recognizing the device after plugging It in, or if it displays a message along the lines of “USB Device Not Recognized” KEEP THE PHONE PLUGGED IN TO THE USB, Go into the Control Panel in the Start Menu and open up the Device Manager. At the very bottom of the list of hardware etc, there will be a selection for “Universal Serial Bus controllers”, expand this menu and look for an item called something like “Unknown USB device”. Double click on the device and go to the “Driver” tab (I think you have to press a button on the first screen that appears in order to get to the menu driver tab. Although I can’t remember what was written on it, there was only one there). When in the Driver tab, click on “Update Driver”. Now on the wizard that appears, click on “Browse my computer for driver software” then, ignoring the rest of the page, click on “Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer”. Uncheck the selection box “Show compatible hardware” and scroll down the list of Manufacturers until you get to “Samsung”. Now, if you’ve installed PC Studio, you should see four separate selections for “Samsung”. Click on the fourth manufacturer selection and you should see “SAMSUNG Mobile USB Device” as a Model selection, select it and click “Next” (If, 1, you don’t see “SAMSUNG Mobile USB Device” at all, then just browse the other three Samsung based manufacturers or, if 2, you have more than one entry of “SAMSUNG Mobile USB Device” then select the top one”. Also, if Windows comes up with any warnings about installing device drivers, just ignore them). Windows will now update the driver (It actually updates three drivers). If you open up PC Studio the phone should now be recognized as connected (Assuming your prior setting up of the Connection Manager to use USB).
