There is an obstacle in the scanner path, or the scanning head guides got bent (unlikely). There could also be something in the rubber drive belt driving the scanning head gears. Try looking inside with a light and check for scratches on the guide. Unfortunately, to fix the problem you'll have to either send the scanner to maintenance, or to open it yourself (voiding the warranty).

I have a Hobart LX30H dishwasher. Partway though the wash cycle the sound of water splashing inside the machine stops. Motor still runs. Very little water dribbling out the spray arms. Water level ok.

It's a guess, because I haven't used Industrial Hobarts for a while, but the contactor unit for the pump is faulty. These are usually hidden behind the control panel or the bottom kick panel.

Fix lens that won't extend fully

If your A360 only extends the lens partway when you turn the camera on in picture mode, there is an easy solution that requires no technical knowledge whatsoever. Mine exhibits this behavior most of the time, and I've experimented it with it and found that these two things help:

1. Hold the power button down the entire time the lens is extending. For whatever reason, this seems to help.

2. If your lens extends only partway (if this is the case the screen and all pictures you take should be blurry), simply hit the macro mode button (the little flower to the left of the zoom) twice. This works because when you go into macro mode, the camera automatically brings the lens to its lowest zoom, which is meant to bring the lens back from a high zoom, but also works in reverse. You may have to repeat this procedure a couple times each time you start the camera (you'll know it's fixed when you no longer hear the motor whine when you press the button).

One last tip: if you've had this problem before and you start up your camera and it seems fine, use trick number 2 anyways, just to double check that the lens is indeed in the correct position. I've made the mistake of assuming, based on the fact that the picture on the screen looked sharp, that the lens was fully extended. When you look at your pictures, you may find that all of them (even those taken with a tripod!) may be blurry.

My workcentre PE 220 scanner locked . How can I scanner unlocked? Because there is no button in scanner???

Rick Kasper's solution is a good start. There is no mechanical lock for the scanner head (below the glass plate upon which the material to be copied may be placed).
The "scanner" in this context is the optical head that slides along a rail below the glass plate. Its movement from the home position is monitored by a photo transistor. If the scanner head fails to release from its park position under the left hand window as it should, including during the power-up sequence, the failure message will appear.
If you hear a fairly loud whining sound (from the stalled scanner head drive motor) during the power-up sequence followed by the "scanner locked" warning, it indicates that the scanner head is hung up mechanically in its park position below the left hand scanner glass. Verify this by opening the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) before powering up and note lack of movement of the scanner head assembly. Following the sequence outlined in the service manual, remove the scanner + ADF assembly, open the scanner assembly and move the scanner head on its rail to free it up. Take care to reassemble the scanner head with the white nylon slides properly placed on either side of the head.
If however, during the power up sequence you do not hear the whining noise, it is a sure indication that the motor has either failed or that no drive power is applied, but this is rare compared to mechanical hang-up.

Vehicle will not start, normally when ignition is in on position there is a whining noise for a few seconds, I wait until the whining stops and then start the vehicle. Now, when ignition is on on position...

Hi. The whining noise you hear is the fuel pump priming the fuel lines. If you don't hear the sound anymore then your fuel pump has stopped working. Check your fuses. Also look for a relay for the fuel pump. The relay will usually be in a large box under the hook that says fuse and relay panel or something similar. If the fuses and relay are working the the pump will probably need to be replaced.

The scanner is connected properly and I've used it for years. I turned on the scanner today and the power button on front lights green, then I hear a jerking sound and the light immediately starts...

Check if the transportation lock is in the unlocked position; this is on the back above the USB port. Disconnect any accessories that could be malfunctioning. Then turn the unit off and back on. If the unit responds properly, it was a temporary problem. Retry the accessories. Otherwise, the unit needs service. You will need to determine if the cost of service is worthwhile.

The flashing red light can indicate the fluorescent lamp needs to be replaced or the scanner is malfunctioning. From the sound you describe, I suspect it could be a problem with the motor or the path that the scanning unit has to travel.

I hope this helps.

Scan head is stuck in path and will not reset

I had the same problem. I disconnected the scanner from the PC. restarted my computer. Shook my scanner a little bit while PC was rebooting (or maybe a little slap) and when PC was rebooted), i plugged my scanner back and it recalibrated automatically.
