Re: Kenmore 80 series washer

Not normally. Sounds like the level pressure switch is not operating.
There is a chamber on the side of your outer bowl...this has a tube attached heading off to the pressure switch.
Check tube for chaffing; check for blockage in chamber and tube assembly;
if none of the above could be the pressure switch this is thou.

How do I check and replace the water level sensor on my Kenmore 80 Series Hvy Dty Washer?

Try as per your 80 series. There are various downloads there that may help access the water level sensor which is most likely the problem.

The washer is filling with water but not stopping @ it's right cycle. It overflowed last night. If you could help it would be greatly appreciated. Kenmore 80 series

Check the water level switch. This diaphragm like device has a small plastic tube attached between the switch and the bottom of the washer's outer tub. As the water level rises, so does the pressure on the air in the tube, and when it reaches a certain level, it activates the switch to turn off the water and signals the timer to start the appropriate cycle. Look for any damage to the tube and make sure it has no obstructions in it. The switch can be tested for continuity using a multimeter or ohmmeter. A lack of continuity indicates a bad switch. Hope this helped and best wishes.

Kenmore 80 Series draining problem

Check the following before replacing the timer.

1. Clogged drain line or water pump
Check to see if there's something stuck inside the pump or the drain hose connected to the pump (pump is usually located at the bottom and towards the back of the washing machine).

2. Water Pump
If the drain line isn't clogged, you may have a problem with the water pump such as a frozen pulley or a broken impeller. If that's the case replace the water pump. Note: if you have a belt driven washer, check the belt(s) for cracks, as this would be a perfect time to replace the belt(s) if needed.

Kenmore 80 series washer doesn't stop filling up with water

Almost went and bought a switch until I widened by search for "kenmore washer 80 series overflow" and came up with this:

Turns out that a couple weeks ago, I had a really unbalanced load that probably shook off the tubing. Anyhow, saved me a trip to the supply store AND cost. Thanks to the original poster!
