Re: hard drive problem

Hmm...could be a problem with the drive. How are you formatting it? Is it in DOS mode or are your formatting it under Windows? If it's in DOS mode and it's encountering that problem, there's a possiblity that it could be damaged. Don't loose hope, try to run FDISK command on the hard drive. Delete the partitions on it and create a new one. After running FDISK on it, format it again and check if the same problem occurs. If it still occurs, there's a problem on the hard drive.

I have just copied data to TRANSCEND 25M3 640G USB 3.0, then i run VMWare Image from my external. Then after i want to shut down my laptop, then click safely remove, but it prompt 'USING IT, STOP...

You really can't purchase a USB 3.0 port for you computer, I know for a fact that the G60 doesn't have an expansion port that would allow such a device.
I don't understand the prompt either, to be completely honest.
If you're asking if its prompts you to format the drive, and asks are you sure, that's a good feature.
But, other than that, reply with a little more detail and I'll be glad to go more in depth with you.

Hai i have transcand stor get 320GB hard disk. my propblem my computer detect the hard disk but when i try to open that it asks "do you want format it?" what shoud i do?.

If the computer is prompting that the drive needs to be formatted, this means either the drive has become currupt (not likely) or that the drive hasn't been formatted or is an unrecognised format

if the hard drive was formatted on a Mac or Linux machine without choose Fat32 format, the drive will be prompted to be formatted under a windows machine

if there is no information on that drive, i'd suggest just formatting it

remember formatting a hard drive removes all information off that hard drive.

Hi I have Formatted my WD12000bevs hard drive and instaled XP when th pc re-boots to complete the instalation i get the XP logo and status bar then the Blue screen of Death with the STOP 0x0000007B code....

Do you have a version of XP on the computer internal drive?
If so, it may be the version that is trying to run on the reboot, and falling over.
Or possibly it just does not like the USB.

Also, running the system from USB has several problems.
It will mean the system runs sluggishly as the data rate over USB is not high.
Also external drives are prone to being accidentally disconnected, never a good thing for your system drive.

If you want to run XP on that 120GB drive I would;
Delete all partitions on it.
Remove it from the External enclosure.
Install it in your machine as the only drive.
Install XP.

This is my standard method for a new XP installation and it's much less grief than any other way.
If you are trying to do something different, please tell me.

My computer is restarting

Did you mean STOP ERROR: ( 0x0000007b ) ?

1. I need to know the model number of the computer.
2. I need to know the operating system you're attempting to install on said computer.

xxxx doesn't tell me anything , looks like a memory error but you'll need to give me the exact error number or error code.
