Question about Zenith E44W46LCD 44" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

Zenith E44W46LCD 44 in. Rear won't start

The power light blinks then after about 10 seconds there is a short buzz sound (sounds like its from the lamp area). Picture used to come on at this time. But now is buzzes the green light continues blinking and buzzes again. This happens 3 times then the Indicator light (middle light) blinks red for about 5 seconds the the power indicator goes back to orange (standby mode / off).

Tv has been having this problem off and on. But usually after sitting a day or few hours it will come on. Now it doesn't come on at all.

No dust on fan (cleaned filter). And lamp cover switch seems to be engaged. Don't know anything about TV's but if this is a bad lamp and it's not too hard to change I'd give it a try.

Any advice from this knowledge base would be appreciated.

TV is 2 years old.

I have similar problem with my Toshiba 46MW48. A buzzing noise for few seconds the Tv attempted to restart. Took to repairers and they want over £500 to replace lamp and ballast. I cannot aford this.

I have replaced Lamps before, and can get a ballast for about £90

Can anyone offer any advice on fitting toshiba ballasts? They look like computer circuit boards with a metal back and the brown connector which fits into the lamp unit.

Any advice?

The buzzing is the ballast for the lamp trying to light the bulb. From what you've described it is a lamp failure. It's not that hard to change but you'll have to obtain a new lamp first. You can try and buy it from LG (800-243-0000) but I'm not sure if they'll sell to a consumer. Then you have to reset the lamp timer after you replace it. Hold the mute on the remote and the enter button on the tv at the same time for about 8 seconds and a screen will come up asking if you want to reset the timer. Just follow what it says to reset it.

I replaced my bulb 6912V00006C on my Zenith E44W46LCD and when i plug the TV back in a red light comes on. when i press power a green light blinks for 5 seconds and then goes back to the red light. I don't...

YES, this set is difficult to replace the lamp correctly---it is very likely when you put the cartridge back into the set the two pins on the back did not properly engage inside the set.

Remove lamp and try again, if set was working before and now different problem, the lamp is not properly seated.

If I remember this model, just the bulb is available, you have to take the housing apart and replace bulb--if not perfectly done plug on back with two pins will not engage.

My zenith e44w46 turns on have sound but cant see the picture

Please tell me if you hear any clicking noise while turning on the set. If not tell me what is the status of the stand by/timer light at the front. Does it blink? If yes then how many times does it blink in between each pause. Let me know this info so that we can continue the diagnosis.

TV wont turn on

The main power supply is failing or it is shutting down because of a fault on the output side of it and it is trying to protect itself from overload which can cause a fire. Contact Zenith customer service and describe the problem, particularly the flashing LED which may be giving you an error code.

Suspect small thermistor mounted on light engine or check first to see if lamp is shattered. Either one causes this symptom. Good luck, Russmann.
