- I have been downloading movies, I came home from work turned on the unit it has a clicking soumd inside. I usually have an icon when I open the computer icon, now nothing shows up.
A clicking noise from a hard drive is the the read write heads banging back and forth across the disk platters. This drive is faulty and needs to be replaced.
The data is not recoverable by normal means, if you are need to recover the data from this hard disk, there are companies that can recover data from faulty hard drive BUT it will cost you an arm and a leg for their services.

I've just bought an Iomega desktop hard drive. When I plugged it in, nothing happened. I went to the site and downloaded, what I think is the correct program. How do I know if it was the correct program and how do I move blog sites to my new drive?

My Iomego Ego will not mount to my power mac G4. I've tried using the fire wire cable as well as the usb and neither worked. But when I plugged it up to my PC it mounted. I've gone through the internet searching for answers and a couple of people said it could be that its not receiving enough power. Can you help?
