Sansa e250 frozen white screen

My husbands mp3 player is stuck on a white screen and static is all that comes out the earphones. I have tried holding the power button, charging it...doesnt work. Please help, I would appreciate it!- Cherri B

hold the power button and forward button together for 2 minutes
