If yours is a frost free unit, it may be going through a defrost cycle, which it should complete on its own, and then the compressor will start and resume cooling.
Otherwise, if the compressor was under too much pressure to re-start, just leave the unit unplugged for 20 minutes or so while the pressure dissipates, then try again.
