Our ceiling fan make a loud noise and the light

There should be a separate pull tab for the fan. sometimes, this gets hidden in the light fixture. If you take off the lamp covering, you should see some kind of tab that you can pull for the fan.
If this is not the case, then you can use a trick that I tried one time (it worked for me). There should be a switch on the fan that is intended to make the fan switch directions. If you put that switch in between the two directions (up position and down position, but you want to keep it in the middle), you will disconnect the fan from the light for the winter. In the summer again, just give that switch a flick in either direction and you will be golden.
