With the caveat that you may do more damage by trying some of these tips, you may want to consider reading this article and trying one or more of the tips... your call.

As an option, visit this site, call them and ask the cost of a lens repair. Their charges are very reasonable.

The drop has likely damaged the lens tube (housing) or jarred the zoom mechanism off of its track. These problems cause the camera to power down quickly to prevent more serious damage, and there is no DIY fix. Sorry, but your camera is in need of professional repair.
