Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

When I push the power button I get the Acer logo for a couple seconds then black screen with upper left blinking cursor only. The only thing I can do in the very start of puter is push F2 for setup....

Put in windows disc. Make sure computer boots from disc drive. Do a startup repair in vista/7. In XP let the disc load then select REPAIR COMPUTER. It will go into recovery console. Type your password, select your drive, then type CHKDSK /R. Let it scan. Restart.

Black screen on boot up on acer 7540

If this happens when the computer should be loading Windows 7 or Vista and you are able to see/move the mouse cursor, wait awhile and try hitting ctrl-alt-delete > Task Manager > File > New Task > type in "explorer" without the quotations and then should hopefully load your desktop.
If this does not work, you will need to run the Windows Recovery Console. You can do this by putting in the recovery/install disc that was hopefully given to you when you bought the computer and using one of the Repair options.
If your laptop didn't come with this disc or it was lost, you can create your own: For Vista
For Windows 7

Acer aspire not loading to windows

Hi,

If you have recovery disc or back up disc put it in and restart the PC and start tapping the F12 key until at the Acer splash screen, you should get now see your boot order, now use your up and down cursor key to highlight the CD/DVD drive and then press enter, this will now start the recovery disc that you put in, just follow the on-screen instructions.

If you don't have a disc, restart the PC and at the Acer splash screen start tapping the ALT+F10 or just F10 and if you have a recovery partition on your hardrive then the recovery program will start up, just follow the on-screen instructions.

Thanks

Error Loading Operating System

Do you still have the original recovery disc for the PC? If so, put that into the disc drive then boot the computer. It can help you either save the installed operating system or create a new one if there is a serious problem.

This could also be due to a hard disk drive failure, in which case you'd be needing to get a new hard disk. Most of the time however, just a file allocation table messes up during a power down, or some other random problem happened and just caused a simple error on the drive. I'd definitely find that recovery disc. If nothing else, you can use google to search for recovery boot disks that you can download and burn to a CD using a different computer. They can help as well.
