No sound VA1912wb

Lost all sound. Admittedly I was playing with buttons on Monitor at the office. User Guides are buried in storage in the attic. Whatever I did, I am not smart enough to undo. Would appreciate help. all other volume controls within the computer are turned up. Thanks.

I have the exact same monitor with the exact same problem. One day it was working fine and then the next it wasn't working at all. I've tested the line from the PC with external speakers and there is audio there and I also noticed that when I switch the monitor to analog mode there is no display but the audio becomes audible. Of course because there is no display the monitor immediately flips back to digital and then the audio is gone.

The sound from the monitor's speakers is very weak. I have checked the volume controls in both the pc's Control Panel and in the monitor's control panel. I am stumped.

Exact same as above. Change input and get sound with no display and then it changes back on its own. Would LOVE some help on this issue.

I have the same problem but after much playing around with the monitor controls I found that decreasing the contrast allowed me to hear the sound.... The more I decreased the contrast the better the sound became. To test it have a sound track playing and slide the contrast down (less) til the sound comes on. Mine was sporadic but the more I decreased the contrast the better it became. Ok you electronics engineers - tell me why. One draw back on my monitor is now I have raster lines running down the screen.

How do i get sound?

You will need an audio cable, cable with mini stereo headphone plug at both ends.
One end will go into the PC Audio line out (Green jack), the other end will go into the monitor audio line input jack (green jack).
Set the volume level on the monitor about 1/2 way up first, the volume control panel on the PC about 1/2 up also (wave, cd, etc 1/2 way also).
Then play some sound and adjust each level as needed.

I cannot get any sound from my ViewSonic VA1912wb Monitor. I have everything plugged in the mute turned off showing 100% volume the green jack in back of monitor and green match on computer. No sound from...

You may need to load the monitor drivers.

I assume your PC sound is OK.

When you are plugging the green lead in the Moniotr / PC do you hear any noise from the monitor?? if not may be faulty.

Try plugging a friends set of speakers into the back of your PC.

I pushed the button next to the power button now i have no screen, i pu7shed the button again but to no avail, please help

Common failure is the caps in the inverter/power board, look for caps with bulging tops, see example of failed VIEWSONIC monitor due to bad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

My viewsonic va1912wb just flat-out died. Won't turn on, no lights, no response. Is there a likely cause, and is there anything user-repairable?

Hello,

You have monitor with a very common problem, a dead power supply. After 2-3 years many LCD monitor power supplies will fail just like you have described. The problem is caused by parts called capacitors overheating in the tight space of the monitor case. If you can solder then you should be able to do the repair yourself. We will have a repair guide posted 12/29 after about 5:00 central time that should get you back going again. The repair guide will be on our web site at: www.ccl-la.com If you have any questions please let me know at the address below.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

White screen, power switch not functioning.

Unplug it, reset it. Did it come with install disk? Try running that with your old monitor. The system may not recognize it as plug and play or the monitor may be defective. Call Tiger Direct or whoever you bought it from for support.
