armada m700 working fine. oneday got message 1782 disk controller failure. have tried removing things. will get message even if hard drive & caddy removed. have reset startup sequence have tried with or without RAM. Get message at startup, then goes to non-system disk, replace with system disk

 disk controller failure - the chip from the laptop's motherboard that's controlling the disks is fried. Nothing you can do - all hd's will be unrecognized - that laptop is dead.
 Buy a new one.
