Read the complete solution please- ------- Depending on what the error says you may not need to contact technical support. Often this happens when the swap file becomes corrupted and since it is used as virtual memory, the OS assumes it is RAM that is defective. So it generates a system level error.
To correct this.... See if you can start in SAFE MODE, go to System Properties Select ADVANCED tab Select PERFORMANCE settings Then Advanced tab again You will see Paging File Size in the middle. SET/Change this to 0 (zero) NO PAGING FILE Select OK to continue
No Paging files for all drives if you have multiple partitions (logical drives)
Then save/ok your settings. Then REBOOT Repeat the above process and set the swap file to 2-3x the amount of ram you have in your system. Or simple select the System Manage Size button. (example: 1gb Ram = 2gb Virtual Memory)
Save setting and reboot again.
1: Why do I have to Reboot after each time? because the system removes the swap file writes the changes to the registry.
2: How did my swapfile get corrupted? sometimes a bit/byte get lost because of improper shutdown, power loss, badly designed programs, trojans and a number of unexpected issues.
3: Do I need to buy more physical ram? only if you are using less than 1GB (with XP) or 2GB with Vista.
Good Luck

Monitor goes black (no green, no to flashlight test) even while we are working at fast pace and laptop is stationary. Monitor stays on (power light on), tried both crt and lcd monitors; same behavior. Can wiggle mouse or reboot to regain visual. Also when moving the laptop, screen flashes, both monitors. Cannot test with laptop monitor, as employee needs larger screen to do work and this is intermittent -- can happen 15+ x day or go 3 days with no problem.
