Dewalt DW707 compound saw

Have recently bought a 2nd hand dewalt dw707 mitre / compound saw 110v. Just started using it to cut a piece of cornice and it stopped working half way through the cut! Is there a simple solution (i.e fuse / reset button) or is it knackered?

Did you sense an odd smell? Try removing the brushes, there should be two, it could be one is worn too short or the connecting wire is broken.

I replaced the blade in the dewalt DW716 mitre, now the blade spins slow and trips my breaker??

Hello, W/D here.

Remove your new blade. With the hardware, bolt, washer, blade and cups off, try the saw. If it operates correctly, re-examine how the blade is installed One blade cup goes on, followed by the blade, then the other cup, followed by the washer and bolt assembly. If the cups were in the wrong order, the blade can drag against the frame of the saw, pulling too many amps, and tripping the breaker.

I am trying to re-assemble a DW707 Type 2 mitre saw and there is a ball bearing and a bush that I do not know where they go - can you help please?

Alright, it took some doing, but I found a diagram for this saw, here is the link. Do to the fact you have it in front of you, I would imagine that this exploded diagram will help alot. You know what you have there, and I expect you will be able to figure out from this diagram where the extra pieces go. Good luck!

Hi my dewalt 708 lx sliding mitre saw, 110v, seems to only have half the power(speed) that it should have, and cannot cut timber on a compound cut because of this, any suggestions please.

I have heard complaints that this saw does not do well on angled cuts because of its low power. Try running a shorter and/or thicker extension cord and checking your input voltage. That's about all I can think of, hope it helps.
