I think you need to change your ink cartridge.

Printer leaving black smudges and streaks

Could be bad cartridge leaking. Drum is in the cartridge and if the drum wiper is not doing a clean wipe toner will drop onto paper. Take out cartridge and over a sheet of white paper tap the cartridge with you hand, if toner drops you have a leaking cartridge. Also could be fuser area, they get dirty and leave lines or the teflon coating wears through and leaves a line, depending how old this unit is.

What in the world!! I have the Smart Label Printer 450, it is not advancing the label, and the power button is flashing. It will not print a label at all at this point, and when it will end up printing a...

Unfortunately, this is usually an indication that the label roll in the printer are too old. This action is by design, compatible labels should have a black rectangle on the reverse side and the Smart Label printer uses the black rectangle to orient the label. This means your Smart Label doesn't think its wasting labels, it's just trying to run through what it considers to be unsuitable labels as fast as it can. If you're only printing one label at a time you can recover some labels by correctly the label's line up after each label you print but there's nothing you can do so that your printer will properly advance its current labels.

Remove the current roll, open a new boxed label roll, remove a sealed roll, cut open the sealed plastic, remove fresh label roll and load it in your Label Printer. Power the label printer back on and press the label advance button, it should correctly line up.

A line coming in print out konica minolta

If the line is across the page and at regular intervals this is usually a mark on the drum / web or cartridge drum - can be residue from printing labels (especially if you reuse sheets). If it is a particular colour then it is likely to be that cartridge which has problems.

If line is top to bottom of page then this will be either excess toner in printer or faulty cartridge - again if the line is a particular colour look at that cartridge first.

Xerox 4250 photoreceptor error

I have a Xerox 4250. After the ink cartridge ran out I replaced it with a new one and got the "replace photoreceptor cartridge" message. Reinserted the cartridge and it stayed. Called Xerox and they couldn't explain. I turned the machine off and on and the message changed to "replace photoreceptor cartridge" but an additional message of replace Smart Drum came up. I replaced the Smart Drum and it is working fine now. Note: I really don't think it was time to replace the Smart Drum. But the nearest authorized service provider was 3.5 hours away and this had to be cheaper than a service call from that distance.

Hi - My Brady IDPAL says it is printing, but nothing actually prints... silence. I was reading about the "insert labels" contact issue. It not that.

Hello, this is a response from Brady's technical support team. Please try this:
The three contact pins in the printer are not making contact with the smart cell computer chip (the shiny silver pad at the bottom of each cartridge). The occurs after the printer is dropped or after shoving
cartridges in at an angle.

To remedy, remove the cartridge and look at the bottom of the cartridge opening (just above the Power button). Take tweezers or needle nose pliers and pull slightly on the pins (outward, and towards you). Please double-click and View the file below for a picture of the pins. Once these metal contacts are out far enough to make contact with the smart cell (computer chip) on the label/ribbon cartridge, the printer will know that labels are loaded.

In addition to the Insert Labels error, contacts that get pushed in can result in two other issues:
One, the printer will only print if the cartridge is pushed down
(which makes the smart cell touch the contacts).
Two, if one or two, but not all three, contacts are not all the way out, the printer may only print on half of the labels (because it is only reading some of the silver bars on the cartridge's computer chip, and narrow media activates only one or two bars, where as wide
media activates all three).

We'd be happy to help you directly if needed. Brady Technical Support at 1-800-643-8766 or[email protected]. Please leave your name, and phone number or email address, if you are unable to speak to someone. Our Technical Support business hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30am to 6:30pm US Central Time.

Waste Toner for GP200 series

The waste toner is collected inside the drum cartridge. It can be emptied by removing the drum cartridge assy and opening the opaque window and emptying into a large bag. The lines on your copies are probably a symptom of the drum being worn out, so replacement is probably a better option. The drum is good for 60,000 copies.
