I have a Martin Yale paper folding machine (model # P7200) that is crinkling paper as it goes through the rollers. Some come out fine but about 25% come out severely mis-folded (the folds aren't equidistant or straight) and mangled (paper has creases where there should be none). About another 25% come out just mangled. I have tried adjusting the folder guides but this seems to be a problem with the intake guides or the rollers (?).
I am almost having the same problem. About 25% of the sheets come through with crinkled lines, but the rest are just fine. This is out of a stack put in the folder. I don't get any misaligned or mangled pages, just 1 or 2 crinkle streaks through the folded booklet. Using Half fold.
Im not familiar with a paper folder but if its anything like a printer, it probably has a maintenance kit you can buy or you may have to replace the rollers. Alot of the times they have a rubber grabber that wears out or a roller that gets dirty and doesnt catch the paper evenly and pulls it through at an angle, crinkling it. Check for debree or paper particles that may be floating around inside.

TRY PUTTING A PENCIL ON EACH SIDE OF THE ADJUSTMENT BARS, THEN TAPE THEM SO THAT THEY DON'T MOVE. THIS WORKED FOR ME FOR A WHILE, BUT EVENTUALLY, I HAD OTHER PROBLEMS. THE ROLLER WILL NOT TAKE THE PAPER IN MANAULLY, SO I HAVE TO HELP IT ALONG. i'M GOING TO TRY CLEANING THEM TO SEE IF IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE. BUT THE PENCILS SEEM TO MAKE THE PERFECT ADJUSTMENT FOR AN 8 1/2 X 11" PIECE OF PAPER TO GO THROUGH WITHOUT CRINKLING. GOOD LUCK.

If the fold plates are set correctly then it may be a skew adjustment (if such a small machine has one) or worn feed rollers. However, you may want to first look for toner built up on interior surfaces especially any rollers.
