Open Question

Tracking Service with Best Buy

I called early last month and talked with tech support who said they would turn my problem over to Best Buy and someone from Best Buy will contact me. I havn't heard from them and I have also misplaced the work order or service tag information.

Could you please let me know where I can follow up on this as the TV is getting worse by the day.

There is a 20 pin cable that goes from the main board to the light engine that can cause this issue. The other possibility is the door switch or the cable that leads to it has failed. If none of those correct it then the light engine itself is the problem. Hopefully one of the earlier mentioned items is the issue as the light engine is costly. The part number for the cable is LSJA0467 and is available here

Hi again, UPDATE: my tv that was supposed to be fixed on Feb.11, just finally got fixed and returned today. Repair guys came to my house, replace the four boards that are a known problem on Feb. 11, it did help but still was not 100 percent. They had to order a pick up date to take it to the shop and it was just returned and working great. They replaced the plasma panel p/n 6348Q-C049H - $3978.88 in addition to Y-Sus - p/n# 6871QyH039B - $337.74 Z-Sus - p/n# 6871QzH044C - $244.68
Lower Y-Drive - p/n# 6871QdH089A - $132.48
Upper Y-Drive - p/n# 6871QdH088A - $132.48
for a total of just under $5,000 for the repair parts. We originally paid just over $3000 for the tv. I don't know what labor cost because LG extended my warranty parts and labor because I had so much trouble getting the attention I needed. They gave me a 6 month extended warranty for parts and labor.

I am a Samsung certified Tech, they do have problems but when the LCD screen was replaced and the main board, they sould have replaced the FR board also

Hello: The problem is on the power supply, there are two capacitors on the power supply near the plug that goes to the mainboard, these caps will look swollen at the top on them compared to the other capacitors in the circuit, if you know how to unsolder and resolder parts then this is a simple fix. The value of the capacitors on the board are 1000uf rated at 10 Volts, replace them with 1000uf rated at 16 Volts instead so this will not happen again. You can find them at any local electronics parts store, (Radio Shack) for instance..There will be two of them that look puffy at the top,they should all be flat so spotting them should be very easy...

I agree, this is not a good thing. A brand new TV should not fail 5 weeks into its life. Unfortunately, since the store won't take it back, you're stuck dealing with Panasonic's warranty group.

Having to wait 2 - 3 weeks for a part is crazy - I agree even more. Have you contacted Panasonic Service supervisors / managers and *politely* however firmly, expressed your displeasure with the quality and service you are receiving? Ask for the supervisor's name and to talk with that person. Go as far "up" as you're willing to go, but ultimately, Panasonic must be allowed to solve the problem within the warranty period.

It might be hard to accept this time, but next time - think back on this experience you had with this Panasonic TV. Be sure to tell the supervisors / managers how unhappy you are and that you have friends looking to buy TVs - and they have been asking about what happened to yours. Tell them you'd like to tell them how great Panasonic was with this problem for you - not how a week old TV died and parts were 2- 3 weeks away.

Dynex 32" LCD White Screen Problem.

Hi, My Name is Jorge K. My family owns Dynex T.V. 32 LCD, we bought the tv at BEST BUY=BBY and we did not buy any warranty from BBY all we had was the fatory warraty that last a year. we had the same problem after five months the screen of that tv stop working and all we watch was a WHITE SCREEN.
Solving the Problem:
If you the orginal owner and bought the tv from BBY, you should call Dynex " the phone number will be on your owner manual tv.and it should be free if you live in the USA" and explain the situation about your TV. It might be a white screen or different problems. You should have your BBY receipt from that tv. because they will ask you for information that the receipt has. After you finish complaning with Dynex, Dynex will transfter you to BBYbecause Dynex branch is relate to BBY as the manual explain us. You will be talking to BBY Geek department. Geek department will send a Technician to fix the T.V. The Technian WILL NOT BE ABLE TO FIX THE TV THE SAME DAY BECAUSE HE/SHE WOULD NEED TO ORDER A REPLACEMENT PART TO FIX THE TV. Generally the tech will need to order a NEW SCREEN TO REPLACE AND FIX THE PROBLEM, but pay me no mind. Haha I am not a t.v. Tech. haha.
Because the Tech will not able to fix the problem the same day, he will give you a phone number and you will have to call BBY and ask if your replacement screen arrive. If they are unable to get your new screen, Dynex will give an order to change the T.V. for a new one. and they will give you a change number that you must write. Then you can go to the BBY where you bought the TV or any BBY and get you new Dynex TV. BBY will try to charce extra money because my, your or our Dynex tv model might be old and had a lower price than they new Dynex tv that BBY has right now. I think you will have to convince the manager from BBY home teather department not to charge you extra money. My father was able to convince the manager and we paid nothing for the new tv.

Solution if you Dynex TV is not from best buy or has more than a year:
haha YOU OUT OF LUCK, You can try call Dynex first and deal will the problem. You can also try to replace the screen but it might not fix the tv and replacing a screen could be costly, haha I just prefer to buy a new TV and no invest in something that might be trash if that solution doesn't work out. Risky, Please play save with your money and don't gamble. HAHA.

If i hurt any feeling, i bet for forgiveness and I wish that everything goes alright with your tv and your life.

Call 1-877-467-4289 for 24 x 7 support in the USA and Canada. If that doesn't work for you call your local Best Buy or 888-Best-Buy for service.
Insigina products are made for Best Buy so they are often the only ones that can service them.

Best thing you can do is call 888-Best-Buy and schedule a service call. I wish i could tell you if it would be a repair or replace situation, but that will greatly depend on the part availability for your TV.
Insignia parts are often very hard to find (only 2 or 3 parts vendors in the US) so the sooner you call the better your chances of a quick repair.

My 2 month old 37" LG HDTV won't turn on...

You might consider using Best Buy's "Geek Squad" just to make sure the set is not a dud.   I'm sure if it's near to the 30 days, they would be real schmucks not to replace it.   But, maybe it's just a setting somewhere in a menu.  Have a good look at the manual with a beer, and I'm sure you will find something useful.

OLEVIA tV is a F#$King JOKE!!!!!.....I bought my tv in Jan and it went out 3 months after that, let me put it to you like this its Oct and i havent got my tv back to this day.

Got a case number and a tracking number that didnt make any sense. The shipping company they used didnt get paid so its been in there storage for 3 months. In some way if you have been waiting for your tv because of the shipping...Olevia is responsible for trans issue and pulling off on the shipping company.
