Question about Canon Digital Rebel / EOS-300D Digital Camera with EF-S 18-55mm Lens
Having a problem with my EOS 300D- when I take a picture the mirror goes up but doesn't come down. The only way I can take another picture is to remove the lens and flip the mirror down with my finger- which works but is obviously not ideal. The firmware I have is 1.1.1- wondering if that would make any difference. Other than that everything is working fine. Cheers.
This is not exactly concerning the mirror but the logical sequence is controlled by a wheel at the bottom that could be defective.
Mirror-lock-up function is performed not mechanically but electronically through the mentioned sequence-control wheel.

Never, never touch the inside of the camera with your finger! Beside all other bad things this will void your warranty if discovered.
Your camera is either defective and needs service, or you have selected the "Mirror lock up" feature which is intended for cleaning the sensor (with special tool)
