Will your machine play standard movie DVD discs? if it does then the laser pickup assembly is the problem. The blue ray discs require a higher precision tracking to offer better resolution.
Have you updated your Blu-Ray player recently? All BD players need to be updated from time to time because of the growing technology of Blu-Ray. Its always been a con of BD players. Best thing to do is have your player connect to the internet. I hope this is the back of your player. Connect your Cat5 (Ethernet cable) to your BD player and than to your router or modem. The port should look like this on the back of your player.
Once you have this connected start your player and it will have a option in the menu to update. Once the update is complete Toy Story 3 and all new BD discs should work. If not, its possible that the disc is bad. More often you just need to update the player.
to update your player, go to the website of your player's manufacturer, (e.g, www.samsung.com, if samsung is the manufacturer of your player).
Once
the site opens, go to or click software on the page, and download
software update on you your PC, then burn the downloaded software into
an empty disc and insert it into your player, then your player will
automatically to the update from the CD.
Or, if your player has
a USB, copy the downloaded software into a usb flash drive, then fix it
into your player and press usb from your remote.
All u need to do is to visit the manufacturer website, you will see a link "download driver upgrade". Download this upgrade and store it in a flash (if your player has a usb port) or just burn it on an empty CD.
Insert the CD or flash drive into your player, the system recognizes the upgrade and automatically installs it..and you are good to go
You have to go to the manufacturers website to download a firmware update , burn it to a disk on your computer / laptop and use that in your blue ray player to update. The instructions on how to do it will be on the site.
