I have AT&T U-verse internet and TV using the 2-Wire 3800HGV-B modem. I’m also using T-Moble’s VOIP for home phone which uses the LinkSys WRTU54G-TM router. I’m having trouble with the T-Mobile router frequently going off-line with lengthy off-line times. Some times for a couple hours. Unplugging router corrects the problem. T-Mobile support recently informed it’s because U-verse frequently changes IP addresses and the Linksys adapter has trouble re-synchronizing. To correct the problem, I was told to change the 3800HGV modem to bridge mode so the IP address will be passed to the LinkSys modem. What are the procedures to change the 3800HGV modem to bridge mode? Larry, Michigan
Hello my friend,
You can disable all routing functions for your Home Portal. I never advise this as a course of action as it typically causes more issues than it resolves - so procede at your own risk.
- use the button on the back to reset to factory state (hold for 30 seconds) - browse to gateway.2wire.net/mdc - click on configure under broadband link - set ATM PVC search to disabled - set connection type to direct IP - click on configure services under the advanced heading - take note of the text under "If you want to connect to the gateway when it is in bridged mode" - un-check the enable routing box - submit your settings

It's an XP and I can't connect to the internet via wireless usb thingy. When I type 'ipconfig /release' and 'ipconfig /renew' in the command, it says I don't have media enabled on my network. My Network is set to "obatin Ip automatically" and all the boxes say '0.0.0.0' . I have fiddled with the networks in the past to attempt to host games online and other reasons, but I set them back to Default settings. How do i enable media on my IP. I apologize for vague details but I'm assuming this problem isn't hard to solve. I hope.
