Does the post give a audio code before the boot stops..? the plcc chip can be purchased from the manufacturer if they are still available. Does the post stop after the mem test or during..? if during, try replacing or refitting the ram sticks. You could even remove the ram sticks and see if the post continues or if you receive a beep code.if you get a beep code, go to manufacturers website for beep code info. Have you tried to reset the bios. most boards can recover from a bios failure, the boards manual will tell you how to do this if the board supports it. If the plcc has failed, replacing the board may be cheaper and free of hassles. Replacing the plcc is a pain as you must get the correct bios installed. Are you getting the video bios details on the screen ? if no, try another video card. If you are using an on board video chip, try a video expansion card, either AGP or PCIE type, whichever the board supports. If the board only has PCI or AGP, replace the board as it will not have the features for modern software and you will probably not be able to replace the plcc.
