Does the post give a audio code before the boot stops..? the plcc chip can be purchased from the manufacturer if they are still available. Does the post stop after the mem test or during..? if during, try replacing or refitting the ram sticks. You could even remove the ram sticks and see if the post continues or if you receive a beep code.if you get a beep code, go to manufacturers website for beep code info. Have you tried to reset the bios. most boards can recover from a bios failure, the boards manual will tell you how to do this if the board supports it. If the plcc has failed, replacing the board may be cheaper and free of hassles. Replacing the plcc is a pain as you must get the correct bios installed. Are you getting the video bios details on the screen ? if no, try another video card. If you are using an on board video chip, try a video expansion card, either AGP or PCIE type, whichever the board supports. If the board only has PCI or AGP, replace the board as it will not have the features for modern software and you will probably not be able to replace the plcc.

Hi,

Just set the BIOS configuration to its default settings. Simply access the BIOS again and on the BIOS, Press F9 and select "Yes or press Y" to load BIOS defaults and Press F10 to Save and Exit BIOS setup.

After bios flash, bips & no booting... is it a way ?

Flashing a BIOS is risky, if any little thing goes wrong and it fails to flash properly, you get what they call a "bricked" BIOS. It is highly recommended not to flash the BIOS unless there is a problem with the currents system. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but once the system has been shut down after a bad flash it's too late to fix it the easy way. Depending on your level of experience you can try to de-solder the old BIOS and solder a new replacement BIOS. Otherwise you should send it to the manufacturer and let them deal with it. Alternatively you can try to find your model motherboard online and replace it.

E-machine t6212 won't boot. I actually have two e-machines that are not sending a signal to the monitor. One is a t6212. It is booting up because I can shut it down using the windows key + up arrow +...

If you get only one BEEP at boot then the computer is working..

Do you have a 2nd monitor to test with?

if it BEEPS more then once...
pull out your mem chips and test,,
If itt works them one of the mem chips are bad if not..
pull out all pci cards and test.. if it works its a bad card...
if not unplug all HD and CD roms and test.......

If not fixed yet it maybe a onboard video problem...

But IF you put a video card in b4 the problem started then your bios may have auto set it sellf to PCI/AGP mode.

Check bios setings,, look for onbord setings for the video

Have you tried attaching an external monitor and using the <FN> key with the F? key (mine is F5) to toggle between internal and external video?

If still nothing download latest Bios update and try to flash to that.(if you don't have a multi-bay floppy drive you may have to invest in a USB floppy.

or Try ebay for parts
