LG plasma 50 inch tv with a fine vertical black line in the center of the screen that runs from the top of the screen to the bottom

Try changing the input device to something you are sure works. Switch off TV manually, switch off power, remove plug and retry after 48 hours. If problem persists, please refer it to a qualified service technician.

I HAVE THREE BLACK LINES AND A YELLOW VERTICAL LINE DOWN THE CENTRE OF MY SAMSUNG 50" PLASMA TV. ONLY 10 MONTHS OLD! WHAT CAN I DO?

The TV should be still under warranty. Most of the flat panel TVs come with a one year warranty from the manufacture. I wouldn't mess with the to void the warranty.
The problem most likely is the buffer/scan boards on the bottom connected to the screen. It controls the vertical image on the screen. The other possibility is the plasma display panel is bad.
Go the warranty route first. This may get expensive to fix.

My akaki plasm has a one inch vertical line down the center of the screen

Most likely one of the scan/buffer boards needs to be replaced to fix the problem. The vertical scan/buffer boards will be on the top or bottom of the plasma panel. It's basically the last boards that is connected to the screen panel itself.
You maybe lucky and its only a loose connection. Replacement boards can be found at a good price a E-bay. Just make sure the part numbers match up on the circuit boards.

1" black vertical line in center of screen. Sony Plasma.

NOT DEFECTIVE!!!
There are 4 or 5 ribbon cables on the bottom or on one side, they control part of the plasma screen. Check the ribbon cable2_bing.gifnear the black lines. Unplug the ribbon cable and look for black chipson the underside of it, I think they say 100 on them, you need toresolder both ends on each chip. Should fix the black line issue.
