Trying to install my Lexmark Z600 printer on my new Dell Inspiron desktop. It worked fine on my old computer. I have the CD and have installed it and, in the setting up process ticked Lexmark Z600. I eventually get a message saying "Installing printer" and a blue line flashes to and fro across the screen. I've left it for 40 minutes but nothing changes. When I try to print it says there's a problem with the connection

First, did you install the software before connecting the printer? Some manufacturer's want the software first. Second, while in the installation process - did it tell you when to connect the printer? Last, which operating system are you using and what was the old operating system(old computer)

bordermec is right - If you didnt install it correctly you may have to remove the software and start again.
Although it sounds like you dont have a good connection bet the PC and the printer. Double check that as well.
