it sounds like your machine is over filling. the gasket is not supposed to be under water. check the overflow float inside. it looks like a little hat or cone. it should move freely up and down. if it is stuck down, your machine will fill up too far and then leak. good luck

Donichy, Hi, A common occurance with the bosch d/w aside from mis-diagnosis being #1, is the lower spray arm can split, crack or seperate causing water to spray directly at the door corners instead of upwards, hence manifesting as a leak. It will be easy to confirm or dismiss as well. Remove the lower rack and pull the spray arm straight up out of the support tower and then inspect it very thoroughly. If this should prove to be the fault, replace it with # 167301. This part should be available at most local parts depot's or on-line vendor's. Double check with you "complete" model & serial number located on the r/h side edge of the inner door. Hope that helps, but let me know either way. Good luck. macmarkus :)

- Hi donichy, it`s macmarkus again.

I also wanted to add some info regarding an issue some of the older bosch dishwasher`s had. If you can remove the toe panel or kick plate as some refer to it, (the black panel at the bottom held in place with 2 scews) take a look at the water valve/inlet. does the solenoid part of the valve (where the 2 wires are connected) sit vertical (up & down) or horizontal (side ways).

The reason I bring this up is if the valve is a old style,(vertical) it must be changed for the new style (horizontal) before it fails completely, and when it does it usually fails in the open position allowing water to flow even without power to the unit...which can be disasterous obviously, especially if you are not present when it does. (it may already be failing leading to overfilling). It should be replaced as a precautionary measure even if it is not what`s causing the problem presently. For your info the new part number is 425458. All this info is relative though, dishwasher`s manufactured since around 2004-05 should not be affected. A serial number will confirm or dismiss whether your`s is included or not as will the visual inspection.

Let me know.
