Re: how to download on my computer a avi video

Not a big problem. if your camera is also showing as a sperate drive means you can copy and paste it just like you do for normal thumb drives.
not a big deal brother

Hi there,
Could be that the the extension of the video file is (.AVI) and your video player in the PC can't "read" the file...try Google: "Free video VLC media player" to download.
Hope this helps?,

Tips: How to burn AVI files (torrent/digital Camera videos) to DVD on Windows 7

Do you like to shot videos with your favorite digital camera to capture and keep every happy moment in your life? And do you never miss any movies which can be free downloaded from torrent sites, such as Pirate Bay, Vuze, etc. to fully enjoy digital life? That's wonderful digital experience, but to keep these movies and life memory forever is suffering, isn't it? 'Cause either your digital camera's memory or your PC hardware has a limit, so many digital lovers keep asking how to burn digital Camera/torrent files to DVD:

Q1: My torrent downloads are always in the .avi format. I would like to play these movies in a regular DVD player, but I don't know how to burn the DVD on my computer (running on Windows 7).
Q2: I've shot the movie myself using a camera, it is a two hour long .avi file. All I want is to be able to shove it in the DVD player (in the living room) and for it to automatically play.

A: That's true, most videos shot by digital camera, and most free downloaded movies from torrent are in AVI formats. A good and easy way to keep these videos and movies forever is to burn AVI files to DVD which makes easier for you to watch these videos on your DVD player without any hitch. That's easy to finish the whole task, first of all, let's look at all the things you will need to burn AVI movies to a DVD.

1. Things You'll Need to burn AVI files to DVD AVI to DVD Burner software
A black DVD disc
A PC running on Windows OS (including the latest Windows7)
A PC with DVD Burner

2. How to find a good AVI to DVD Burner?
Actually, there are a lot of AVI to DVD conversion software, please never get a one without free trying first. Before making a purchase decision, you can get recommendations from professionals, friends, etc. And the most import thing is to get a free trail by yourself. In fact, I have tried a lot of such software, but for the sake of simplicity and stability, I will present you such a conversion tool which works well to convert AVI format to DVD on windows 7.

3. Steps to burn AVI files to a DVD on windows 7

Step 1: Free download AVI to DVD Burner
Please free download this Windows 7 AVI to DVD Burner, install and run it. And insert a DVD disc to your PC.

Step 2: Add AVI files
Add AVI videos or movies by clicking "Add Video" button.

Step 3:Set DVD menu
Select your AVI files, then hit "Burn DVD" button at the bottom of the interface, and then check "Next", you can select DVD menu from built-in "Menu Template", and you can set background music and picture for your DVD menu by checking the related option to customize your DVD menu. Here I set the background picture by adding a picture from your PC. If you want to preview your DVD movies, you can click "Play" to make a preview.

Step 4: Start to burn AVI files to DVD
After everything is done, you can click "Next" to select your DVD burner from "Burn to" option. Then, you can hit "Start" to burn AVI files to DVD.

Here below is the explanation of TV Standard:
"NTSC" is 30 fps, which is used in USA, Canada and Japan;
"PAL" is 25fps, which is used in Europe and Asia.

That's all, after the conversion is done, you can watch your torrent movies or digital camera videos on your DVD player.

.thm video files

Here is some info from :
Video thumbnails are often created on digital video cameras and digital cameras that record video; THM files may or may not be transferred to the computer depending on what software is used to import the video; each THM file shares the same filename as the video clip it represents, i.e. "clip001.avi" and clip001.thm."

Camera Videos wont download properly

Videos generally run in AVI mode. When putting pictures into the computer, place them in the "My videos" folder instead of the "My pictures" folder. This should solve your problem.

Pictures download fine on computer, but video sound only downloads, no picture. Help, what if anything am I doing wrong?

Hi Gauvin,
What is the file format for the captured videos? I mean..are they .AVI or .MOV or...
Please make sure that your computer has the Codecs necessary to play that specific file format. Its not a problem with the camera. Try downloading and installing K-Lite codecs, you can get it for free on internet.
Please let me know in case you come across any issues and I would be glad to assist you ahead.

My sound on video's

It is possible that it's a codec problem, try and see what the video format of your camera video is and it's sound format, then go download some codecs appropriate for the video and the sound will play again...
