You should be able to go back to the changed desktop picture (wallpaper).
Under Control Panel- personalization-desktop background, you will see a drop down box. upon pushing the picture location downarrow you will see where the pictures are.

How to change the picture on my desktop?

If you're trying to set a picture that's online to your desktop (called wallpaper) you can just right click on it and click "Set as wallpaper" or "Set as desktop background" or something similar.

Conversely, you can right click anywhere on your desktop and go to Properties (in windows XP) or Personalization (windows 7 and Vista) and change it from that dialog box.

Can we really change the wallpaper for acer aspire one D260? If yes, HOW? If no, WHY?

Yes you can. Right click on an empty spot on your desktop. In the flyout window it will say - depending on which operating system you have ie windows vista - "personalize" or graphic properties etc. Click there. If you get the right one ie "personalize" in vista you will see "desktop background" on the list. Click on it. Then you can pick the picture/wallpaper you wish to have on your desktop.

You can also get to the same place by going through CONTROL PANEL and clicking on PERSONALIZE and change it on DESKTOP BACKGROUND there.

How to change desktop wallpaper

Probably the easiest way to change your wallpaper is to right click on the picture you want, and select "set as wallpaper". Otherwise, right click on the desktop, select properties, go to desktop and browse. (In Vista, right click, select personalize, then desktop.)

I cant put a wallpaper

As you have not mentioned the Operating System, let me provide the general information.

But, please do not worry, I'll also provide you the alternate options.

In all the Windows Operating Systems, the Desktop Wallpaper can be changed by using the Display Properties option.

The option to change the Wallpaper is only not available with these Operating Systems:

1) Windows Vista Home basic.
2) Windows 7 Home basic.

However, here's the key.

You may change the Desktop Wallpaper by using any third party Applications.

This also applies to the Windows Vista and Windows 7 Home Basic Operating Systems.

I have mentioned one such Application below:

You may download the Wallpaper Changer Application from the below link.

Hope this helps.

Please feel free to ask further questions.
