Why does screen go black after a few seconds

Hope this helps.... Your monitor has an inverter issue. You know it's an inverter problem when:
1. Your monitor starts normally and displays the startup/desktop screen for a while.
2. Then it suddenly goes off, leaving a blank (black) screen or a very dim display.

To fix this black screen problem, change the inverter board (based on your monitor brand).

Flashing green light and monitor wont start

There are one or two capacitors that open in the power supply, sometimes it will have a bulge at the top, making it easy to spot.

White line appears in the middle of the screen

please describe the issue better cause it doesn't make sense..are you saying that your screen background is black no matter of the picture you choose??or that the image of the monitor is just showing a black screen??in the case I sescribed ..if the operation system seams to work but you can not insert any pictures anymore on wallpaper and it is black ..and a genuine advantage program is inserted a banner in the tray system ..(right ) ..this is a case that yous windows is not genuine and the warrning was placed after you check it on a installation get rid of it ...just make a search in the start for a file named..WgaLogon.dll ..and after you lcate it ...rename in by changing a letter in th emiddle (ex: WgaLogTon)..and restart the computer ..after this the functions will be right back ..insert another walpaper and go on ..
If you are talking about the image being just a white line in the middle and the rest is black like it is shut down..than the issue is caused by a condenser burned on the image should have it checked and changed..

I am using an Apple 30inch Cinema Display with a MacPro Desktop. Occasionally, Lines would appear on the screen and I would have to restart my computer, but not the screen, upon start-up, has a number of...

This sounds like a video card issue with the Mac Pro, have you tried testing the display with a different computer?
Next, check for any software/firmware updates from Apple and install if necessary.
Next, I suggest resetting the SMC to flush out any legacy niggles, this can be accomplished by following these instructions as provided by Apple.
To reset the SMC on a Mac Pro:
  1. From the Apple menu, choose Shut Down (or if the computer is not responding, hold the power button until it turns off).
  2. Unplug all cables from the computer, including the power cord and any display cables.
  3. Wait at least fifteen seconds.
  4. Plug the power cord back in, making sure the power button is not being pressed at the time. Then reconnect your keyboard and mouse to the computer.
  5. Press the power button to start up your computer.
Another way to reset the SMC on a Mac Pro computer is:
  1. From the Apple menu, choose Shut Down (or if the computer is not responding, hold the power button until it turns off).
  2. Open and remove the metallic outer door.
  3. Press the SMC_RST switch that is located slightly below and to the right of the row of diagnostic LEDs. Use a non-metallic, non-conductive object, such as a wooden pencil. Note: Mac Pro (Early 2008) does not have an SMC_RST switch, refer to the reset procedure steps in the previous section.
  4. Replace the metallic outer door.
  5. Press the power button to start up your computer.
If the problem persists and you have identified that the problem is definitely with the display then any further information you can provide would be most helpful in diagnosing the problem - otherwise, if it is the video card then (assuming it's still warrantied) get in touch with Apple. If out of warranty then I'm sure we can guide you through the replacement process if needed!

Hello I wonder if you can help. When we switch

Had a similar problem like this several times. Try choosing safe mode. Safe mode will load the required drivers. After safe mode finishes the loading process, restart your computer and choose to start windows normally. The problem you mention usually happens when the computer is turned off without using normal shut down procedures. Also happens when you have a sudden power outage.

Sounds like the computer is shutting it down and the monitor is fine. Check for viruses then check your settings in device manager for the screen saver and power down (screen off) options.

HP vs17e My screen went black for a few moments and when it

Switch off and on your PC and hold down the F5 key and this should bring up your PC in Safe Mode. If this fails, then find a PC repair shop to replace the power supply.

Black screen

What do you do to make it come back on? Sounds like it might be getting too hot and/or going bad. Try it on another machine and see what it does. Also try another video card because the video card could be going bad.
Sounds like an insurance claim.
