VCR will not play tapes

My AKAI vcr has stopped playing tapes.When I insert a cassette and press play it appears to try and play but just keeps cycling with the display changing from the clock to play and back again continuously.This happens with several different tapes.
I have the same problem
I know someone who can solve this problem

Just the usual problem of needing the rubber belts replaced.
Buy a kit of them for your model from all kinds of sites on the net and install them yourself (if your handy with delicate mechanisms).
