Hoover HWB814D - How Does The Door Open?

I've just taken delivery of a brand new Hoover HWB814D washing machine. The problem is that I cannot open the door to get at the instruction manual. There is a button with a key on it on the front of the machine, but this doesn't seem to open the door.

Am I missing something or have I got a real problem?
Please advise.
