My Toshiba 50" Projection TV Model #50A50 screen has a crack in it. How do I replace it? or fix it?

There are two screens involved here, the protective screen (outer) and fresnel screen (inner). You do not indicate which is cracked. I have listed the part numbers and costs from below:

fresnel screen - part number 23430784 Cost: $133.01
protective screen - part number PS5001 Cost: $162.73 (no longer available)

You can check with local service centers for the protective screen as some may have one around in stock but it is no longer availabel from Toshiba.

Please help!

If the screen is clear that may work. but if its tinted you wont be able to see the image clearly without the tinted rough screen .But if its clear you should be ok, however the other screen will get broken super easy without the protective scren protecting it. New screens are exspsensive. The following link should have your screen.

Yes, the screen can be replaced. The screen is comprised of 3 screens. The Fresnal Screen (inner screen), Lenticular Screen (middle screen), and the Protective Screen (outer screen). Please see below for links to these items.

Replacement Screen (need all 3 to complete screen assembly)

  1. Fresnal Screen
  2. Lenticular Screen
  3. Protective Screen

virginia, go here, they will sell you the screen(s) your set may have a protect screen on the front & it may not, there are 3 screens when the set has the "protect screen", then theres the lenticular screen and behind that is the fresnel lens (screen), the second two are expensive and so is the s&h so be prepared for a high dollar fix if your set doesn`t have the "protect screen", You will have to take the front of the set apart to determine how many you have (which will determine which one you need), good luck, BMW Rider
