Dlink Switch hangs all of a sudden

I have a dlink 24 port switch on the network, it works, until it randomly just hangs. All the computers on the network cannot access anything on the network. but the lan icon on all the systems would say that its connected. When i unplug all the lan cables from the switch and plug it back in. It starts to work. Anyone knows why?
