Job Status Window Interface has Stopped Working. I am using Microsoft Vista and my printer is a Lexmark X5650!!!

Cancel all the jobs in the quee.... reconnect the printer ....restart the system also ............. if status not changing reinstall the printer driver..........

My printer will not print still after I troubleshoot it and everything. I have a netbook laptop so I don't know why it's not printing. It says it's ready and everything

Problem Print job does not print; No Lexmark job status window Solution What you will see


  • The Windows print queue spools the print job.
  • The print queue icon appears in the systray or notification area.
  • The print queue icon disappears as if the print job has successfully been sent to the printer.
  • The print job disappears and does not print.
  • No Lexmark job status window appears to indicate a communication problem.
  • No other communication errors. This issue is most likely due to a corrupt device mode registry entry from another printer that was installed and used in the past.
Or
  • You do see the job status window and you do not see any alerts or communication errors, yet still nothing gets printed

What to do

A confirmed cause must be established before a resolution can be achieved.
To do this:

  1. download a diagnosis tool that will help determine the cause of the printing issue.
    IMPORTANT: Again, this tool is only to be used in cases where there is no communication error message from the Lexmark job status window and the job spools quickly through the Windows spooler, yet nothing prints.
  2. Select an easy-to-find Save location, such as your Windows Desktop.
  3. Double-click on the delserDevMode.exe file.
  4. Accept the License Agreement. After the file is executed, it saves devmode.txt to your root directory (e.g., C:\devmode.tx.

How do you load a lexmark X5650 all in one printer, copy, photo, scan, and fax? I am trying to figure out how to load the fax to send the fax to someone.

Sending a fax using the printer control panel:
  1. Make sure the printer is on and is connected to a working phone line.
  2. Load an original document faceup into the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) or facedown on the
    scanner glass.
  3. From the printer control panel, press the Fax button.
  4. Enter a fax number, or press Address Book to select a number from the Speed Dial or Group Dial list.
  5. Press Color or Black to select a color or black-and-white fax.
  6. Press Start to send the fax job.

Printer status window interface stopped working dell AIO 926

I know this sounds too simple, but get a new USB cord. I had the exact same problem and it was driving me crazy. I followed all the advice about uninstalling, reinstalling and updating multiple times and it never fixed the problem. Finally, my husband made the simple suggestion that maybe it was a problem with the connectivity of the USB cord. I didn't have much faith in it, but I bought a new USB cord and hooked it up - and I have never had a problem with the printer since then. My original USB cord (the one replaced) was the one that came with the Dell printer - perhaps there is a flaw in the cord somewhere. ?

I install the software.printer is works,but when i want to use scan,there is on the screen ocr software mising ,install the software.on the printer scan is failed.how can i scan?thanks

In this case please insert the disk to the computer goto My Computer in XP and Computer for Vista...... There u will see a icon which says DVD RW lexmark 5600 u need to right click on it and click on explore and then click on Abby and run the setup.exe file and then try to scan it will work fine................

Job Status Window Interface has stopped working.

The issue usually occurs if you are using windows xp drivers on a vista machine. It's strange that the error does not come up when printing from internet explorer 7.0.

There is a file on support.dell.com that you can run to remove any xp drivers and then run the vista installation file. that should take care of these error messages from the operating system.

Had this problem with a Dell AIO 924 printer, searched everywhere for an answer and found one! - after uninstalling google sidebar and google chrome - not had a problem since :)
