Sony Ericsson K510i won't boot up

When you turn it on it shows a bright blanl screen then goes dim for a second and then goes bright again and stays like that . No button has any effect. The only way to turn it off is to remove the battery.

It would seem to me it needs a rest but I don't know what the if any the button combination is. Any ideas anyone?
