Unit will not start

Power is probably interrupted while the unit is on. A loose plug connection or power fluctuation might cause it. Ensure that the unit is plugged firmly on the outlet.

1. While stuck on the "PLEASE WAIT" display, press and hold power button on the unit for 10 seconds,
2. The unit powers off then back on.
3. U61 error message appears on screen. This means the unit is carrying out its recovery process. This process restores the unit to normal operation.
   
4. Wait for the U61 message to disappear before doing anything after these process.

Sounds like my woman.  The thing is looking for a signal.  Hook the TV or stereo receiver up to it or put a DVD in the tray.  Some DVD players take a bit to power on so you might just be an impatient lot.  Take the thing back to the shop and exchange for a different brand like Sony or Samsung which power up quicker and are more user friendly.
