Hi ive got a samsung vp-dx10 camcorder, it wont charge! Ive purchased a new original samsung battery, ornage light comes onto say its charging, but when i check it has only charged for about 10mins (orange light stays on to say its charging). It is a normal charger i just connect to camcorder not one where i have to take battery out! Im not sure what to do now!

Please remove the memory card and hold the power button down for 15 seconds. If that does not turn the light off, please remove all batteries from your device. Please stay away from the power outlet where the camcorder was initially charging. Thank you.

check to make sure the port isn't loose or damaged. the soldering might have broke from the board

Hi, My guess is that the battery is no good any more. It will not take a charge any more. Replace the battery with a new one. Good luck.

Try cleaning the brass tabs on the battery and the point of contact brass in the camcorder. Use a soft brass brush (gun clean kits at Wal-mart carry them in all sizes). I do NOT recommend useing steel wool because steel wool will leave little bits of itself behind and cause shorting out

Is the charging of the battery part of the camera or is it a separate charger? Meaning you remove the battery from the camera and install it into the charger to charge. Of course, if the charge is not full when both batteries have been on the charger, then the charger is at fault. Also, considering that you have also put a new battery on the same charger and the problem is still the same, then the charger is (again) at fault. You can try and send the charger to the retailer for inspection or, better still, take the whole camera and get it checked. Bad batteries or charger can cause more trouble to both the batteries or the camera.

are you trying to charge the battery while on the camcorder??? does the camcorder work when you plug the camcorder into the charger?? If the battery fails to charge while its on the charger it can only be the charger but most likly the battery. If the camcorders dead it could be the dreaded pana cap think thT HAPPENS TO MOST CAMCORDERS AFTER A LITTLE AGE. good luck
