My HP6310 will send FAX but not receive them;

My HP6310 will send FAX but not receive them; screen says Caller ID not installed (although I have verified that it is), with error code 232, which may mean that Caller ID is interfering with the software. I would like to keep Caller ID; any solutions? Is there updated software to take care of this?
