It isn't a 'dirty problem' but it will print an aligned sheet, then the next print it will have these little color blotches as if it's a misaligned part of the photo
Are you using genuine inks or compatibles/refills? Have you cleaned / aligned the print heads recently? Does it only happen on the second print? Could be a case of excess ink getting onto the rollers which then get hot and deposit the ink on the next paper coming through.
Also make sure you've selected the correct paper type before printing.

I am having problems with the 1280's ink carriage "jumping" like it is hitting something with each pass, messing up the print. any ideas? The carriage feels kind of loose. Thanks! -Jay
