try updating your itunes and resetting both comp and phone (turning off then on) and connect up, if your not having any luck try a different cable, also try with another user account on your comp with administrative access or try another comp all together, cant give you a definite answer on what it is until there's been a bit of "troubleshooting"...by all means give it a shot and if you cant sort it just message back :)
try changing the usb connection mode in ur cell first.
Change it to "Always Ask" n then nw connect it.
On connection, U'll b asked to choose any one of d mode 4m diff modes. So, select nw "Mass Storage"......
either screen or battery issue.
try taking the phone apart and checking that everything is secure, best way to do this is to take it to bits! just put it back together and ensure everything is securely screwed down.
if the problem persists then it must be the battery not holding its charge.
does the charge light stay on (orange led) on or does it go green or flash on-off orange?
could be battery issue..
on the charge slot on the bottom of p3300 there will be 2 bins left and right inside. try bending them slightly - ONLY slightly tho incase it snaps.

its wat im doing at the moment, im currenlty trying to figure this out so ill keep you informed if i find the soloution.
atm i have to have my phone on charge to use it, otherwise it just goes off but thats how im getting it to charge atm.
if you are using XP,install ACTIVE SYNC 4.5. if you are using VISTA or WINDOWS 7, no need any sync software. plug in the HTC to your laptop. right click on MY COMPUTER and select MANAGE. in the window that appears now, on the left hand side select DEVICE MANAGER. now on the right hand side see if you have any yellow colour icons. if YES,try to update the drivers. if nothing works out, try another PHONE to connect and use your phone to connect to another laptop. atleast this will give some idea as where the problem lies
Try putting it on charger and switch on the phone. My guess it that the charging mechanism has gone bad in the phone. also try charging the same battery on another phone which uses the same battery (if you can) this will tell you if hte battery is alright. Also try replacing the charger (just in case).
with the charger plugged in, try connecting the phone to the computer and take back up. also some of these phone (i am not sure about your model charges when connected to Computer. try that as well..
