cloudy will not come off when washed by hand almost looked like it looks scratched and and somewhat of a ring look on top and bottom of glass. I have a water softner too.
If it does not wipe off then this is called "etching" and it is perment damage you can avoid it with certain things. Set your water softener to hardness level of 3-4 grains per gallon. Do not prewash dishes before putting them in, just scrape. Dry without heat aslo will help
hard water is the problem. go to www.dishwasherfilter.com and get a difi filtration system for your dishwasher. very affordable and works like a charm. no more calcium build up.
If there is not enough water, the dishes would not get cleaned. This could be caused by a partially closed water shut-off valve (located under the sink), or a faulty dishwasher water valve (located at the bottom of the dishwasher, behind the kick panel, on either side).
Also, There is usually two, sometimes three spray arms in a dishwasher. Make sure there is no debris blocking the holes inside each spray arm.
**Water temperature Note***
To get the best results, the water has to be at 120 degrees Fahrenheit when entering the dishwasher.
Concerning the Film.
This problem occurs due to excessive calcium build up inside the dishwasher. Try cleaning you dishwasher using a dishwasher cleaner. There are a few out there, Try Dishwasher Magic.

It is a Quiet Partner 2. The only number I can see on it is 8575637. The top rack was not getting cleaned so we were able to drop the rack down. Still not getting cleaned. I do allow hot water to reach the kitchen before turning on the washer. I also try to make sure that the disposal is emptied before starting the washer. I am thinking that the water ports are clogged somehow. If so, is there a way to clean them? Thanks!!!

The top water sprayer/spinner keeps falling off. I have to remove the top/back water channel to locate the small plastic button that holds this spinner in place. It was lose inside the top section of that. The button still has ridges to retain it slightly but obviously not enough to keep it on.
