BOOTMGR is missing shows on startup

If you got that error then you probably have windows vista. This just normally requires the Vista repair, which is quite different from the XP repair. First boot to the Vista disc that you have, pretty much at this point it will setup your keyboard and language and then you get to choose startup repair and sit back and wait.
