I recently was given a used Porter Cable Router model 75182. It would not start up. Router would make terrible noise and overheating smell.

you were given it because it was junk
fixing it will be a waste of time and money
the overheating indicates burnt out wiring in fields or armature

How do i put belts on a bissell powerbrush steam cleaner?

If this is the model i'm thinking of. Make sure the units unplugged from the wall. There should be about six phillips head screws to remove. The motor should now be exposed. This is a good time to clean up the inside of the unit. Use liquid wrench or WD-40 and lubricate any moving parts. Make sure the brush is in good shape some require you to rotate or flip the brush to even out the wear. I hope this has been helpful.... : )

Hi: I took my unit apart to clean it. I was careful to put it back exactly as I took it apart. Now it won't start. I also need a new filter. I rinsed it out but it still stinks.
Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The best way is to check your owner’s manual to see the trouble shooting guide of which may help you. It could be a loose wire; or the separator could be on too tight, I am going to give you the Rainbow / RexAir Factory phone # so that you can check with cust serv or their serv tech support. Feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area also.

So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Older Rainbow Noisey

Older Rainbow Noisy
Posted by Capt_Troll on May 06, 2008
I Have an Older Rainbow (i think it's a d4)
my Old roommate ran it once without water.
it Still works now (with water), but
it's Very noisy on start up
Also I Can't seem to remove the separator (no instructions) but the nut at the end of it appears to free spin the motor when i try to turn it.
Can I Take this apart and Clean/lube it? And if so how? Or is this thing on its last legs? Thanks

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Rainbow E Series Canister Wet/Dry Vacuum. The Rainbow D4 is an older Rainbow Vacuum and the part where the separator is part of the armature, the separator should be able to be removed and that might be one of the things making noise. As normal maintenance the separator should be removed and cleaned after every use and re-installed, then place a newspaper or towel under the motor unit and turn on the Rainbow and spin the moisture out of the motor unit. This should be done every time you use it. Other wise the Rainbow has 3 fans in the bottom of the motor and if they are weak they will make noise from the motor unit as well. Watch out… the repair of the Rainbow D4 may exceed the cost of a new motor of which will solve your problem of noise and separator --- compare the cost and the labor and make a decision. If you have further questions please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer. . So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

No power in power nozzle
Posted by pjs5451 on Apr 06, 2008
Vacuumed with power nozzle one day working fine took attachment off to use crevice tool reattached power nozzle and no power whatsoever.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Rainbow E Series Canister Wet/Dry Vacuum. The Rainbow Power Nozzle does have a reset button on the newer model on the top of the power nozzle, just push it and it should reset, or check all your pigtail connections to make sure they are connection and the cord leading to the actual Rainbow Vacuum itself. Out in left field might be that the power nozzle motor could be shorting out or not working or dead and might be in need of replacement. Check the cord for any frays or bad connections. If you have a problem please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
