Dryer timer switches are normally non repairable. You will have to replace the timer switch.
Be sure if you decide to do the work yourself, to get the correct timer switch, and remove one wire at a time from the old one and connect it to the new one.
This can be a daunting task for a novice if you do not do it this way.

The knob seems striped will not turn and pliers will not turn it. The dryer was running perfect until yesterday. It is a G.E. But I cannot find a model # this is just a guess.
