LG Flatron W2234S Monitor \r\nMonitor goes black

LG Flatron W2234S Monitor Monitor goes black and displays LG Logo with an Energy Star icon next to it for about 3 seconds then returns to normal. The transition occurs at varying intervals but appears that something may be wrong with the monitor. Currently blinking about every couple minutes.

It displays normally otherwise

- I called LG and they are bringing me a whole new monitor, since it was a problem they knew and wasn't worth to be fixed under warranty (its 10 months old). So I guess Monday it is fixed. However your solution did not work for me, but thanks anyhow.

Ahh the same thing has happened to my monitor! Mine unfortunately is 1 month over warranty. Apparently this is a common problem with this model!

The problem is more likely on the computer end rather then the monitor. It would seem you are loosing the video signal from your PC. Possible causes are a loose video cable connection, a video card that is going bad, or misconfigured power saver settings. Check your cables first. If that is not the problem then you need to check your power saver setting. You can do this by right clicking the windows desktop, when the dialogue box pops up select OPTIONS at the bottom to open Display Properties. Display Properties is where you set your screen saver, themes, video settings etc.. Next, click the Screen saver tab, at the botton you will see the Energy Star logo and to the right a POWER button. Click on the power button. Set monitor hard disks and system standby to NEVER. This will prevent your system from turning off any devices. If none of the suggestions work, send me a note and I will help with more detailed diagnostics.
