Hi there, when I switch on my Compaq 6720s it powers up (you can hear the fan spin) then powers off immediately (LEDS go off) I have tried known good ram. Thanks

- Thanks for the advice. I am using a known good PSU - so that rules that out - any other ideas (I am beginning to think GPU) ?

Have you checked that the power supply is giving charge to the computer, sounds like it's trying to run on battery power, but if the 'power brick' isn'rt working properly, this can give the symptoms you describe
