i had gotten a RCA P52731WK chassis PTK169PGB. my uncle had given me the tv, when i plugged it in there is a loud electrical snapping sound and then shuts off. he told me 4 years ago he had same

problem and he had replaced the bulb. could that be the problem?

- Where is the noise coming from, it could be the flyback transformer.

This set does not have a bulb. It has three picture tubes which can be mistaken for a bulb. It is possible that one of the three tubes can be leaking high voltage or you could have a bad high voltage transformer. Either way this is a dangerous area to be working and you would probably want to get some professional help. Thanks
